Location Based Class FAQs

What locations do you offer classes?

We offer classes all over San Diego County. Also, businesses and individuals contract us to go to their locations both inside/outside of San Diego County to conduct classes at their site. Click here to view the calendar of classes we are currently offering.

Will you provide workplace training at our company/organization/in our home?

Yes. Call (619) 669-9911 or email us at vicki@savalifeeducators.com for more information.

Do your classes meet the same guidelines and standards as American Heart Association (AHA)?

Yes, we get our information from the same source that American Heart Association gets their information.

The 2005 Guidelines for CPR and ECC are based strictly on the science consensus reached by physicians, nurses, scientists, researchers, and EMS professionals from around the world. These volunteers were appointed by their peers and served independently from the AHA and any commercial interests. These fellow practitioners look forward to implementing the updated guidelines resulting from this multi-year process. At the International Consensus Conference, approximately 358 invited experts were in attendance, 46% of whom were from countries outside the United States.

How do I register and pay for a class?

How far in advance do I have to register?

Registrations can be made at any time. We recommend registering a few weeks in advance. Our classes fill up quickly.

Can I reserve a place in a class without registering?

No. To hold a place you must register and pay for the class in advance. This will ensure that we have the minimum number of people necessary to conduct a class. Also, it will ensure a space for you, as these classes usually have full enrollment.

What happens if I can’t attend a class I'm registered for? Do I get a refund?

You need to notify us 72 hours in advance if you are unable to attend a class you registered for. You are at risk of not receiving a refund if the class does not meet the minimum number of participants. We deal with this on a case by case basis.

I've heard that your classes are sometimes canceled because there aren't enough people enrolled. Will I get my money back if you cancel the class?

Yes. If we have to cancel a class we will give you a full refund, or transfer you to another class.

How do you issue a refund?

By check or by crediting your credit card, depending on how you originally paid for the course. Refunds are issued within 30 business days.

I didn't receive a confirmation letter. Can I still go to the class?

Yes, you can still go to the class. To confirm your registration by telephone, please call (619) 669-9911 or by email at vicki@savealifeeducators.com

Can I purchase materials online?

You can purchase many of our items on our products page. We have Adult/Child/Infant CPR and AED videos or DVD’s, CPR mask barriers, and books.

Do I have to actively participate in class?

By participating as much as possible not only will you learn more but you are sure to have fun. Most classes include a video, discussions, and skills practice that require you to participate in hands-on activities. Since some of the skills practice takes place on the floor, please wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. To receive a completion card, you must attend class from start to finish and pass the skills section.

What if I’m late to class?

Since the core of all our classes is taught at the beginning of class, you need to be in class ready to start on time. Class starting times are firm. If you arrive too late to a class, a re-registration fee may be assessed to register for another class. No one will be admitted to the class after 15 minutes have passed. Please arrive to class at least 10 minutes earlier than start time.

What should I bring to class?

First of all wear comfortable clothes. If you are enrolled in the CPR class you will be on your hands and knees. We suggest bringing a pad and paper if you would like to take notes, a water bottle, snacks, and or a lunch if you have an all day class. You might want to bring money, at the end of class we have several products you might be interested in purchasing. (CPR mask barriers, and videos or DVD’s)

What if I cannot get down on my hands and knees to do the skills portion?

We can accommodate people with special needs. Just let us know at the beginning of class so we can make arrangements for you to do your skills assessment by putting your manikin on a table.

I lost my completion card; can I get a replacement card?
